My wife has been giagnosed with early dementia and is taking exelon.
She sleeps over 16 hours a day and I am wondering is this is related to the meds.
My mom moved in with us 2 1/2 years ago. She brought along her two cars which are 13+ years old. She came to me last night saying “look who I found” she was holding the older cat and she said she has no idea how the cat found her but that the second she saw her little bit immediately remembered her. Then she went on to say that little bit and Julius didn’t fight when they were introduced and that Julius gave little bit a bath and welcomed her with no hissing etc.”

I wanted to share this with you. My mom is forgetful but no other signs of cognitive difficulties. But the doctor still recommended Donepezil. We tried a low dose for almost 3 months. During that time, Mom had some nightmares but also so very vivid dreams. with my husband, we could only watch a couple shows that he really liked from the past. A better alternative to TV for him was music that he used to enjoy. Near the end, music with words was too… read more
My spouse often acts like a toddler, when I say "no don't do that" he pouts. He picks his nose and then puts his finger in his mouth, and when inside our home he asks if he can pee in the backyard, how can I say something that won't be so harsh that it has me sound like a Mom saying no, that's gross? Plus I'm pretty negative when he does pout.
Thank you all for your support. Yes, my daughter and I have patched up our relationship. I did apologize and said I just wanted to move forward. I told her I understood how hard it would be to move… read more
Husband has night terrors six out of seven nights every week. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s April 1 but night terrors have been going on a few years before but just getting more frequent and worse. He sees people or things during an episode.
