Thanks that makes up my mind as well
Answering my own question. Stopping the namenda was not a good experience for my husband or myself. He became very, very anxious and uncomfortable. Could not sit still. He looked as though he wanted to get out of his own skin. He became more verbally insistent and was not sleeping well. After a trying 3 weeks we put him back on the medicine. The symptoms went away.
I have fought with this decision for a long time. My wife was diagnosed 8 years ago but showed symptoms earlier. She takes those pills some twice a day. She had diarrhea in her depends a side effect of one of the drugs she takes twice a day. She is either late stage 6 or early 7.
I took my husband off two months ago and he was fine. They say it only works in early to mid stages so he wasn’t benefiting from it any more since he’s in late stage
My husband’s next neurologist appointment is mid-December and removing him from these Alzheimer’s meds is going to be one of the topics we’ll discuss.
