I'm also wondering if this really is "normal" for dementia. All of my dementia information says that people with this disease will sometimes not make sense. However, he is not making sense all of the time. He's seeing things that aren't there and making up words. Just curious as to if anyone else is dealing with this or is this really out of the ordinary. Thanks!
I just agree with what my LO tries to say and say your right or I know
Put first pair of depends on now I can't get him to take off the wet ones. HELP
I definately do and unless one has experienced his horrible journey one has no idea. Many many uos and downs. I lost my Mom and Dad 4 days apart in February and layer them both to rest on the same day… read more

I can take care of my husband's day to day needs okay, but dealing with incontinence is so hard. Even though he wears depends, it still comes out, gets on bedding, chairs, all over himself, but he doesn't seem to realize it. He's a great guy, mellow, will sit for hours tearing cardboard and newspapers into tiny pieces, doesn't argue. But having to clean him and everything around him is just wearing me down. How can I tell him that I want to move him into some kind of assisted care facility when… read more

If one can cook, why move? Even hiring a cook is cheaper than a care facility!
Muggsy, I wish I would have seen this before I moved my dad to our house. Sounds like you have great resources.
PreWick is $600. Try Uqora. I saw it advertised for UTI's. I sufferered in my 20's. No amount of cranberry works!
Spouse wears depends, seems to use the bathroom often enough, but is obviously not cleaning himself well enough. He stinks and gets angry when I gently tell him he has to do a better job at cleaning up. Then a battle begins when I try to help him in the shower.
How do others hand this very personal situation?
