How Do You Deal With Bowel Incontinence? My Husband Doesn't Understand When His Body Is Telling Him He Needs To Use The Toilet.

He starts removing his clothes but he doesn't sit on the toilet. So I'm doing a lot of laundry. He gets upset when I try to get him to use the toilet.

My husband also is having problems with that. He wears depends. Actually, I put two on him in the morning. When the one closest to his skin is wet, I can tear it off and he still has a clean, dry one on. It is too hard to take his shoes and jeans off each time to change them. As far as BM's, he no longer has the feeling so when he goes, it is normally in the depends. There have been times when he pulls the depends down after he has gone and it goes everywhere. I normally smell it before that happens. Is there a reason he doesn't want to sit on the toilet?
Good luck, we are in this together! 😢

I would also like to know if there’s a reason he doesn’t wan to sit on toilet. I have exactly that problem! I try to demonstrate by sitting down myself but he’s still puzzled! I just try to explain it another way and finally it works, the next problem is that he no longer feels when he’s dedicating so often he’s not done and I have to wipe it off. Another problem is that he doesn’t recognize any of the common words for poop, nor can he smell it at all but he does allow me to wipe him clean most of the time. Please share, those if you who have overcome some of these immunology action problems. It is absurd what a big bother this is to all of us.

That is exactly what my husband is doing. Little poops. I haven't started using pull-ups. Does your husband accept wearing them? Did you ever think you would be so glad to see him have "a good BM"?! I know the feeling!

Sadly my husband is getting to this stage, as well. Today he has had a little poop in his pull-up every time I changed him. Thankfully when we were getting him ready for bed he had a good BM.
