Both my husband and I had bad reactions to Ambian. I think it is not recommended for older adults. We both use Melatonin for sleep.

As an old retired nurse I can attest to the fact that drugs do react differently in different people and what works for one will n o t work for the next person! Can become a process of elimination which is so frustrating! Praying you've found something good, Ruth! Blessings! Jan

Our adult daughter tried Ambience and it did cause suicidal thoughts. I use Acetaminophen PM and it works great and doesn’t effect the stomach.

My son who has schizophrenia had taken seroquel and it helped him sleep, but the hallucinations were not good. He no longer takes the medication.

All the VA neurologists do not recommend sleeping pills of any kind. Barry takes melatonin- sleeping habits change regularly. Actually his Seroquel for agitation in Alz helps more than anything! Blessings and Merry Christmas to all!
