My mom is on hospice. I get 5 days respite care. I have made plans for her to go to the nursing home for 5 days. The guilt is overwhelming. Hospice promised one if their staff will be there every day. They approve of the nursing home and actually made arrangements for me. Please don't feel guilty. You need a break, even though it breaks your heart. You have to take care of yourself in order to continue to care foryour love one.. I too was the only one to care for my Mom until her care got out of my hands. And I had to place her in a facility. It was the hardest decision to make. đź’”
But at least you love one will come back home when respite is over. Please do what you have to do to keep your sanity through it all.
