Sending you strength, this is such a difficult road for all involved. Wish there was more volunteer help, expenses mount quickly.
Has anyone received a Form -1099 -LTC for last year. My dad received one. I didn't know my dad would have to pay taxes on this.
Thanks!
It's from his long term care insurance Allianz.
I am considering reducing my husband's Memantine dosage from 10 mg twice a day to 5 mg twice a day. I think the Memantine is why he only is awake for 6 hours a day. While awake he is alert and interactive for about 90 minutes and then doses off. The excessive sleep generally seems to have coincided with starting the medication. His doctors are giving me differing opinions. Can you please share your experiences with this medication? Has anyone reduced the dosage and what was the result?
Memantine
My hubby started on Memantine for about 3 1/2 yrs. A year ago she upped it to 28 mg a day. I believe that is the highest dosage. He has not had problem with it at all. He takes it in the… read more

My partner has several medical issues requiring regular doctors’ visits, but recently he just refuses to see even his favorite doctor with whom he had a great relationship for years. When asked why he just says “I don’t know”, his standard answer for every question.
Thanks, I never thought of that. Although he also refuses virtual visits.
My husband is in relatively early stages and hoping to do some trips we have always wanted to. We have a camper that we tow, staying a new place each night. I wonder if this is too demanding?
I would say go for it too. We took my dad on two trips last year. He loved it. I had hoped to take him somewhere this year. But with losing my job, money is very tight!
Normally, I have changed my Mom every time she does anything at all in her diaper, provided I am in the room with her and know. Otherwise, I check on the diaper situation at reasonable intervals. Lately she sometimes just flat out resists and gets disgusted at having to be bothered with getting changed often. This must be because it is definitely painful for her to need to be rolled/helped from side to side
Now she will give the silly excuses such as, "It's just gonna happen again.", or… read more
