Has Anyone Heard Of “False Memories?”

Hello everyone! This is my first post. I am posting regarding my 86-year-old mother. Four years ago she was having trouble walking and with her memory. We thought for sure it was dementia. The neurologist and brain surgeon said she had Water on her brain. They then put a shunt in and it helped tremendously. AD patients often confuse memories. It just another symptom to deal with for caregivers. The fact she believes her prayers result in results is interesting. Mom, under this long shadow, barely understood her mind and memory was a problem. At times, she surfaced and spoke about it. Maybe a silver lining for you and Mom. Blessings to you!

My Mom has the same thing confusing memories that have her so totally confused. It’s so hard to deal with this them while they are feeling like this. I just try my best to calm Mommy down. I tell her the dementia is play mind games with her.
