Anyone Else Have Experience With Positive Covid And Dementia?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My mother tested positive and was hospitalized... diagnosed in a state of acute delirium! She has yet to come out of it totally, becoming more alert but very agitated. Think it brought the dementia to another level.

Yes my father had it over Christmas and it was the most we have ever experienced as of yet for being completely confused. He stopped being able to find the bathroom at his own house, didn't know what a belt was for, and put his glasses on backwards letting them fall to the floor. He woke up not knowing who my mother was for the fisrt time. It was like he went from level 3 to level 7 over night. He got a little better after he got over covid, but not entirely. It really did a number on him.

Ask for a referral to a geriatric psychiatrist. My husband had definitely moved to another level of dementia with symptoms of severe agitation. Thank God the psychiatrist prescribed different meds. He is stable now.
