Coconut Oil - Is Anyone Using It? Do You See Positive Results?

I signed up for an online conference, which is 12 days long and called "Awakening from Alzheimer's". Each day they have a different doctor talk for an hour about their findings on Alzheimer's while working with patients and their experiences etc. It's only up for 24 hours then disappears to be replaced by the next day's lecture. Yesterday, was day 5, and the whole hour was about Coconut Oil. The doctor was Dr. Mary Newport of Spring Hill Florida. She has written two books on the subject and her… read more

I completely understand the desire to find something that will make the day-to-day better! The hard work you did to help your kids get in to college is amazing! You should be so proud of yourself and the two of them! I go through a lot of trial and error to help my Mom - coming up with ideas on my own, from books I’ve read and from the fabulous people on this site, and then forgiving myself when the things I try don’t work. Kindness, Patience and Presence are my mantra. And some times, my Mom just needs a big hug to soothe her. I am so glad you are here!<3

Hi KJS, I always think that it is good to follow the rule that “if it seems too good to be true” it probably isn’t... you seem to have caught on to the fact that the people who run this program are trying to sell you something. This particular program uses the “it will be gone in 24 hours” method to try and suck you in - and because they do that over and over again for 12 days, their belief is that after that point, they will have gotten you. Sadly, this program, and many others like them, are scams, meant to give people false hope. Google “Awakening from Alzheimer’s and scam” to get more information. I’m sorry there isn’t an easy fix for this disease! Sending you hugs and support!❤️

Early on I signed up for that same program..... I never watched the first lesson. My gut told me they were pushing products on people that are vulnerable and desperate to do anything they can to hang on to their loved ones.
I did happen to try a coconut oil product for awhile, simply because it was mentioned in the information our neurologist gave us at the beginning. I can’t say I noticed any difference other than annoying my wife every time I tried to give it to her.
Sometimes good intentions get the best of us.

Thank You Rebekah. I didn't google the reviews before signing up but yes, this Dr. certainly does want to sell this presentation and her books. I was hoping, being new, that I might glean some tips or tricks for dealing with the everyday. Even with my limited research thus far I am aware there is no miracle cure. My education is in Criminal Psychology I've read a lot of journals and studies and been a lab rat for colleagues in the field. I think it's very irresponsible to publish something like the above program without human trials with consistent results to back them up and sell it as truth. Yet, I am still exploring avenues, not for cures but for things that might help in some small way. I was able to find what worked best for the twins. Now I have two autistic adults in college, both are members of Phi Theta Kappa. I just can't accept there is nothing that can be done, even if that thing is small if it can better her life I need to find it. I appreciate how kind you have been <3 Thanks

I just listened to this series as well. I found out it was previously recorded (maybe years - definitely at least 1 year based on what I found out from Dr. Titlebalm's office). That makes me wonder how outdated the information. Although there was what seemed like good information, some of the doctors being interviewed contradicted each other (mostly about supplements) which was confusing.
