I'm new to myALZteam. In my profile it asks me to "Add Provider". What are you referring to? My PC, my dad's PC? I don't think he sees a Neurologist. (I'll have to check- seems like he should be) !
I believe I put her neurologist when it asked that and if you don't I would've but down his primary care physician hope this helps
After our most intimate moments my husband would talk to me as if I was someone else. Very heartbreaking! After being placed in SNF, there were problems with female staff. Medication has helped… read more
I was taking care of my Dad for the weekend and he knocked on my door and came in with NO clothes on! (I have NEVER seen my dad naked in 63 years!) Then told me that he was having a hard time having sex and would I help him! So I told him NO firmly and told him to get out and go to bed! Which he did. I told my step mom when she got home Sunday and that night he tried to cuddle up with her and touching her breasts and she told him to go to sleep which he did. Then she asked him about it the next… read more

Does anyone have any good information on this? I find conflicting information that I read as if there is a vascular component, avoiding cholesterol based plaques is recommended, but what if there is no heart history and your doctor is keeping his cholesterol really low, around 100? Maybe I'm just grasping at straws.
Thank you so much for the excellent information on statin, use, benefit & risks. None of my husbands MDs thought that discontinuing his statin med which he has been on for years would benefit his… read more
My spouse often acts like a toddler, when I say "no don't do that" he pouts. He picks his nose and then puts his finger in his mouth, and when inside our home he asks if he can pee in the backyard, how can I say something that won't be so harsh that it has me sound like a Mom saying no, that's gross? Plus I'm pretty negative when he does pout.
Thank you all for your support. Yes, my daughter and I have patched up our relationship. I did apologize and said I just wanted to move forward. I told her I understood how hard it would be to move… read more
My husband has begun saying he is scared and things are scary. We have always walked in the woods. Last time he said he was afraid. Storms have become very frightening in the last several weeks. Bad dreams. Any advice or ideas welcome.
ThanksMuggsy. Hope everything is going well for you. Hugs
My husband is obsessed with this and can be very inappropriate at times. Any advise would be very appreciated. I am new in this group, this is my first question, I am sure I will have many more.
@A myALZteam Member My husband’s worst symptom was hypersexuality. He was very inappropriate verbally and physically (frequent masturbation and exposing himself to staff). We live in an aging in… read more
A couple of days ago, I was given a 45 day eviction notice for my husband from the director of his memory care residence. She told me he should be in a skilled nursing facility, where they can keep him sedated. She told me that, even if another memory care decides to accept him, I’ll likely end up getting an eviction notice for him from them, too. But the nursing homes, I’ve contacted, seem to respond as if I’ve got my head up my butt. And they tell me they’re not equipped to handle dementia.

Oh yes, my mom has Alzheimer's too,
My dad and I r the main caretakers.
My mom is doing great!
And my dad is happy I am here to help as well.
I'm glad I am as well is hard for me not to be working and having no health insurance, is there any help out there for full time family caretakers, as far as health insurance and some income options?
Apply for obama care. You will get it for free with no income. Also take the class so you can get paid to be her aid. Hang in there.
I agree, and hope all those who need Hospice will look into getting their services!
