Clinical Trials
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My husband was invited to be in a trial, but he couldn’t do it at the time. He has his medical marijuana card and uses it to control his constant pain. Are you aware of any trials that would accept a medical marijuana user?
Please help.
Thank you.

Hi, Haven't posted before. If I ever did I've forgotten 😂😂
I got diagnosed on Dec. 2, 2019. I've had Major problems with rage.( I'm not that kinda person) I was diagnosed with alzheimers/with LBD.(BEEN TOLD IT'S THE MOST AGGRESIVE. ) I BELIEVE IT!!
THE LEWY BODIES BUILD UP IN THE 🧠.
ANYWAY, I wanted to share this past year in the short version.
They originally put me on aricept. Well that didn't work. I had the worst rages out of no where! It was crazy. I looked at my husband and said "it the medicine it has to be!" It was! They changed to Namenda! Best drug ever! I'm calm. Nothing seems to annoy. Me...not even my hubby, so now he's lost because he doesn't know what to do when I come off as calm. It's quite funny, but.....oh well!😂😂

Hi, Mik. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'm so glad this medication is working for you. My husband takes 2 5mg tablets twice a day and still has meltdowns. He has been taking it for 3 months. He wakes up very confused in the mornings or any time he has been asleep for 30 minutes or so. He was diagnosed with mild/moderate Dementia when they put him on the meds and started him out at 1 5mg tablet twice a day.
Have a beautiful day!

Hi Eva, I saw your post. I take 5mg. Twice a day. This drug has made such a difference in my everyday moods!
I felt the need to share my experience. Cuz it could help a lot of people. I don't know why, but for me it was perfect! Noticed difference at beginning of the 6th week. Just felt more clear and more in control of my dad thoughts. So it's helping me with both. They might need to up his dose a little to help with the sadness.
Have a great day!

My husband takes Namenda and it works pretty good for him. I think they need to up the dose. He doesn't have aggression, just the opposite. He cries and has meltdowns every day. Usually in the morning, but it can happen more than once a day.
Totally unlike him. He's a retired police officer.
It is better though.
