Should I Consider Getting My 90 Y.o. Father Dental Implants??
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My dad has complained about his lower denture ever since he came to live with me. I took him to a dentist who helped make them more comfortable and he uses the fixadent but most meals he complains the lower denture rocks and moves around. He has had dentures since he was 20 y.o..His teeth do not meet together, there is a gap, so he cannot just take them out. He refuses to go without them anyway.

The denturist told us that the top pnes just about always fit snug and well. The bottom ones seem to ratatale around in the mouth because they tend to move with the jaw moving as you chew and talk. As we age the bones (upper and lower) of the jaw will shrink, hence more rattleing around. As Lindylou says.... get them relined to fit better.

Dental implants are where they replace each tooth! And it is very very expensive! This is a much less expensive way to go if you were wanting to do this. Realignment didn’t work for my husband and have had it done twice 🥴

No, just. No no no no! Dementia person couldn't handle it Cost is over the roof and I do not think a responsible dentist would attempt.

My husband is 84 and has a full upper denture. He doesn’t like the adhesive and I often thought of getting him an implant but he has osteoporosis and I think mounting them in his bone would be disasterous.
