Moms been complaining of upset stomach for about a week now. Shes been on aricept for a little over a month. Just last week her dose went up to 10mg. I'm wondering if this could be the cause. I haven't had a chance to read the side affects. She hasn't eaten a whole lot besides soup. Was gonna give a call to the doc, but thought I'd ask of anyone else had experienced this.

my hubby has 4 children. They are hardly around and yes i know its hard to see their dad fading away and they cant handle it. But boy they can tell me how to do things and so on and have the nerve to ask me why I AM STRESSED or depressed. REALLY. How can they give me advise when they have no clue what he is like or anything cause they are not here. What is the nicest way of telling them to shut up. If they care so much then where are they. Yes i know they have lives also. I feel that if i… read more
Yes, they spend 8 days here and think they know a lot! I've been here close to 4000 days and had probably 4000 naps with her. I'm sure I've cooked 4000 meals, they have cooked maybe 2! I told them… read more

Some days are harder than others for sure. It's like putting your finger in a light socket: every thing you do is wrong! I'm trying so hard to stay calm no matter what. I know Hubs is frustrated too… read more
As I told our son, just because you vent it doesn’t mean you don’t want the job:). Double negative, I know.
My mother has very restless nights, she wakes up between 1am and 5 am and tries to get up out of bed and wander, it can be 2-6x a night. Our worst nightmare happened three weeks ago when she got up and fell beside her bed and had a displaced fracture of the pelvis. She is on the mend but night time is a serious safety issue for us. I have ordered a bed alarm mat that works like a baby monitor that alerts us if she gets up off the pad as well as putting cushioned mats by her bed to cushion a… read more

My husband refuses to identify with his diagnosis of MCI. Went one time to the neurologist completed the neuropsych testing and now he refuses to go back. I was hoping he would go on aricept. My neurologist says all that we can do is send him to his family doctor. Family doctor said he would see him but we couldn’t expect him to take the medication. How knowledgeable just the family doctor need to be in prescribing?
I really would like feedback on the pros and cons of having your loved one living in your home VERSUS assisted living/memory care facility.

When my husband is out of sorts, I think okay, this really is happening. But sometimes (a lot here lately), I wonder could this all be a mistake? Could something else have been going on 6months ago and now it’s over? My husband has been on Aricept for about 5 or 6 months and since July 2nd on the highest dosage. Does he really need it anymore? I am so confused and I don’t want him labeled with something he doesn’t have! Has anyone else ever went through this doubt or know of a misdiagnosis being… read more
