This article from February claims hyperbaric oxygen therapy can reverse some of Alzheimer's. Only tested on one woman, as far as I understand. I was trying to find out whether more studies are underway.

As an RN I think this is just more quackery …. there is no cure for Alz and , even if there were temporary cognition changes, the inevitable decline will happen. We've recently seen postings about other supposed Alz cures and it angers me that folks are paying for cures that do not exist. ….apologies for my rant as I use our vent/rant friendly zone.

If you google Alzheimer Cure Scams lots of info and examples come up about these claims/scams. You are right re known respected medical sites like Mayo Clinic being places to trust but there are also many quack scams out there often targeting seniors.I think most legitimate research is into earlier detection, better meds and genetics (to a more minor degree). Because we have universal health care in Canada any well researched meds etc would likely be paid for but in USA, where lots of health care is self pay this may be a different story.

I'm trying to understand where the "good" testing and trials are done. Without trials, we'll never find a cure. Personally, I trust Mayo Clinic, for example. But I'm sure there are others. Trying to find them ... to learn what's happening, and in case there are any locally that we can participate in. May not be a cure in Dad's lifetime, but I know that if he could participate in finding a cure in my lifetime (in case I experience ALZ later in life), he'd be interested in participating.

I am sad to see that there is little awareness on Near-infrared-light-therapy-devices for Alzheimer's. My brother-in-law was lucky to trial the device and recovered many functions.
My late husband used the Vielight810 device in May 2018 after he lost his appetite for a months. He regained his appetite and enjoyed food till his demise in Aug 2019 due to a fatal fall.
My brother-in-law was diagnosed in May 2018. I gave him the Vielight 810 in Aug 2019 when he came for my husband's funeral. He was unsocial and quiet. In Dec 2019, he took part in the trial of a more powerful device - Neuradiant. Indeed, after the 2 months' treatment of 6min. Per treatment, 2x day, he returned to Malaysia, almost recovered.
I visited him in April 2022 and was delighted with his 70% recovery. The family bought the Neuradiant in Jly 2022. I visited him in Sept 2022 to witness more recovery. I hope his recovery, albeit not 100%, at 79yrs old, will encourage carers to explore and embrace this device. My brother-in-law is almost back to his normal self, enjoying food, company and travelling. He is aware of his diagnosis and understands the care programs for recovery and stability.

Please watch this presentation.

Best wishes and God bless.
Adeline
P.S.
I hope institutions will fund the device to share among the clients. The government should offer grants for timely recovery and quality.
