Its obvious my mother has alzheimers and is getting worse. My step dad and I looking for solutions to get her diagnosed. Deep down she knows she has it. When she forgets things she really gets upset. If you even mention anything regarding it, suggestions or mention anything to do with memory she makes the roof come off. I just moved back this week to be closer. My wife alz has been wheelchair bound for about three weeks. Needless to say this was a cause of great stress. Suddenly four days ago she started to walk again. She appears to be stronger every day. I pass this on that if you are in the same situation you may have hope. Bless you

79 years old; at home with me (and caregiver help). A fall in our driveway before Thanksgiving, broken femur, surgery, hospital stay, Skilled Nursing stay, and finally home - all have seriously affected cognition level. He no longer can walk. Did durable power of attorney for my mom before testing was done. Test results came back she has Alzheimer’s. No car and family managing money for her. She thinks I am stealing her money now and trying to undo things i put in place with the banks. Only managing it for her so she can have money to live on. She also says she never signed that paper making me me look like i am stealing. She also uses foul language all the time and hates the doctor. My mother can't do any of the things she used to enjoy like cooking, reading, shopping, traveling. She can't follow plots or comprehend more than a headline. Although the tv is on all day she isn't actively listening anymore. To keep her occupied we have reorganized dresser drawers & her jewelry box, gone through boxes of photos & worked on the family tree together. My wife is now bed ridden. I chose to take care of her, no home just me and caregivers. She went from a fun loving vibrant woman to being bed ridden. I feel terrible about not being able to do things . She loves bunnies so I have 8 bunnies that stay with her 24 7 and we play with them every day.
