How Can I Brush Wife’s Teeth ?

A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭
Fredericksburg, VA

This is happening now as her AD progresses. Will not co operate brushing her teeth by not opening mouth and biting the brush . Then she will swallow the gargling water instead of spitting out. Any suggestion how to clean her teeth ?

Hi AungPe, Try another time in the day. Sing a song..brush your teeth jingle...so it will divert attention to your lovely voice. ( I say this cause I am no singer) I sang to my mother n law a lot. Also, a great stress reliever for one self. It's ok if you are unable today. Hope it goes well.

My mom will brush if I get ready for her. Once I left the room to make bed and came back to see her brushing her hair with it.

She will not let dental tech do anything! Has been doing regular cleaning . I used electric one but had to switch back to regular. Will consult with dentist soon.
