With my mother, I first see the confusion that is non stop. Hallucinations, she has these fairy's that dance in a circle on the ceiling, then they fly down and run into her. Urine is usually cloudy or dark. I keep urine cups on hand and her doctor told me to bring a sample if I had concerns. UTI is serious with the elderly, and it can happen very fast.

Frequent urination, pain and burning urinating. When it gets bad they can pee blood. Infections in dementia patents cause more distinct behaviour patterns too, like increased confusion, paranoia and playing up in general. They can’t describe their symptoms though which makes it difficult , pop along to your gp and get her urine tested and it will show up.

Frequent urination, difficulty voiding, change in behavior because they Don't know what is going on. Alzheimer's patients frequently have UTI's because not emptying the bladder completely and not drinking enough water.

Momma had a UTI a few days before Christmas 2 years ago to the point I thought she was having a stroke. Her whole right side went weak and she almost slipped off the toliet. I was extremely scared the EMT'S thought it was also a stroke and it came on in 3 days because she had just been to her Dr for her 3 month check up. NEVER DOUBT YOURSELF just because this UTI isn't acting like any of the others. After she was in the hospital for a day her DR asked me what I wanted to do and I said I want to bring her home because it could be her last Christmas with her so she was released with heavy Antibiotics and she had that one and 1 more and now she's gone.

Long story but trust your gut and know they are in your hands now and a UTI can kill. Prayers for your
