My wife does the same, uses a restroom to urinate and 5 mins later says she has to go forgetting she just did, I just say OK and get her to the next available restroom, as long as she is not sick she can go 100 times a day I don’t care, as long as we’re together ❤️

Ask the doctor for medicine like oxybutrin which will decrease the urge to go all the time. Some of it is he's just trying maintain control over something .

My Dad does this. He is so concerned if he goes out in public he won't be able to find a restroom so his anxiety is increasing to the point he doesn't want to go anywhere.

My Dad, who has dementia, has just been determined to be in full remission from bladder cancer. When I asked his urologist about the frequency of urination, the doctor stated that meds to decrease the urgency often make dementia worse. I hope you have better luck.
