I'm new to myALZteam. In my profile it asks me to "Add Provider". What are you referring to? My PC, my dad's PC? I don't think he sees a Neurologist. (I'll have to check- seems like he should be) !
I believe I put her neurologist when it asked that and if you don't I would've but down his primary care physician hope this helps
My husband was diagnosed in 2018 and insists he does not have Alzheimer's Disease. My family and I don't argue with him, especially since he has a narcissistic personality and cannot ever be wrong. Against my doctor's advice, I took care of my husband at home for as long as possible. It took a huge toll on my emotional health. He was eventually placed in a nursing home in November 2021 when it became increasingly difficult to care for him. My husband is now 80 and I am 74. His behavior has… read more

As I told our son, just because you vent it doesn’t mean you don’t want the job:). Double negative, I know.
Husband has never been to one. Not sure if he would agree. I am still able to leave him for about 1 hr. I’m sure one day I will try the daycare route. Happy weekend everyone.🌹
Has anyone had experience with going to a geriatric neurologist? What should I expect? Can a PET if they order one tell what type of Alzheimer’s he has and the prognosis? Especially timeline? My husband already had a MRI confirming brain atrophy but I would like to know life expectancy so I can plan financially and emotionally.
The MRI should confirm for your neurologist where the atrophy is on his brain. My husband also had a PET scan and a spinal tap in the early diagnosis stage, along with testing from a neurologist… read more

Toni, you are amazing.
My Mom has always been dominating and in command, very opinionated, more negative now, insulting (and says why do you always take it that way), how can I just let it go. Trying so hard realizing you cannot rationalize, or even have a constructive conversation at times.
Trazadone really helped Frankie with anxiety and also falling asleep.
