Mom Starting To Get Up Through The Night
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My mom has started getting up at about 5:30 in the morning now. I am wondering if anyone has any techniques or ideas to deter her from coming out of her room 5 or 6 times before it is time for us to get up for the day. My husband and I both are self employed and not getting our rest is affecting our work...Thanks in advance.

I have bought a large clock from Unforgettable which has the day, date and time, it also has 'messages' like "it is Saturday Morning". It took a bit of practice but it helps Dad to orientate himself to day / nights and how early it might be. We now have a morning routine (it takes a while for everyone to practice and stick to it) which helps the smooth workings of our mornings, maybe have an iPad with a simple wordsearch or something to do as part of her waking up routine until xx o'clock? I have worked with children for decades and find some skills to organise children have helped mine and Dad's life together.
