@A myALZteam Member Write Mom a letter supposedly "from the mailman" saying that he will always put her mail in the box for her. And keep the letter to refer to later when she wants to charge ahead. SHe will be thrilled and it might settle her some overalll.

Can you give/leave her a piece of junk mail everyday or hang a false mailbox where she can retrieve it without going outside, like a mail slot in the door. Neighbor/friend can place it in the slot so she is not aware of where it comes from

Thank-you for the advice and support, we posted a sign on the front door stating "No Mail Today" and it seems to be curbing moms need to be checking the mailbox.

Leonard, I did not ask or deserve that response. My husband is 81, can't walk, has diabetes, and vascular parlkinsons and alzheimers, totally disabled.
I meant ignorant of your postal system, as this forum is worldwide. And you think I'm ignorant?

My mom is also obsessed with the mail...I don't know how many times a day she goes out. Just today I was there when the mail truck came and she was upset she wasn't out there and acted like her mail wouldn't be left because she wasn't there to get it. I am concerned because in the winter I told her not to go out because I was afraid she would fall, but she doesn't listen...and now I'm afraid of her rushing and running to catch the mailman.
