Does Anyone Have A Loved One That Grinds Teeth. My Mother Has Started Doing This In Last Few Weeks.
We ask her to stop but she doesn’t realize she is doing it or how to stop. Has anyone had this same problem? Any suggestions?
Yes my mum does. It is a stress reaction . I jokingly say you won’t have any teeth left to eat my cakes! But she usually forgets. She will then go onto picking her skin till it bleeds . And the ripping her nails off. She has had fiddle things. Worry beads to keep fingers active . But then she puts them down and forgets ! She’s told me she get nervous because she is confused and doesn’t always know where she is . Just different idiocyncrosis from this slow dibilitating condition
Can you imagine how frightened she must be? Hold her a little tighter.
I think it is a stress thing.....I used t grind my teeth in my sleep. Dentist says it is stress.
I also used to grind my teeth, but quit after I retired. My mom had never done it until recently. I think it is stress too. Although she has dentures and I did not.
Check out a good dentist. Also could be a nervous condition, I used to. Grind my teeth all rhe time
