My Husband Is So Confused In The Morning
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My husband has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, early dementia, but is so confused and tired in the morning. He perks up around noon after lunch and by evening is doing "well". In the morning he may ask "what's happening to me?" or say he feels lost. I guess since he's diagnosed as "early dementia", then I'm confused with these symptoms. He has been taking Aricept and Namenda.

I have to take 10mg Aricept in the am.as it caused insomnia- The bowel issues settled when I went off the five whites - flour sugar milk salt rice and ketone fast nightly for 13 hrs -- best I've been in 10yrs -- Unprecedented THEY - the MR"s who don't believe you - but like a brittle diabetic - 8 hours missed dose i'm lost in a carpark cant use my key card pin -- thank God for tap n go and getting very emotional with brain fog thickening -- within an hour of taking the said Aricept plus Bredesen protocol am. drugs my mind is again crystal clear mood level and I'm stable to be the adventure grandma -- I say dementia can be managed like diabetes

everyone is different. my husband will sometimes be fuzzy in the morning, okay during the day and then touchy grouchy in the evening. and that can change the next day.

Some people do better in the evening and some people do better in the morning. Morning to late morning is always my mother's good time. After 4 p.m. it becomes very difficult.

Dr. Bredesen uses a protocol of good sleep, exercise, dietary changes, supplements, etc. specific to each patient. He claims to have reversed dementia in 9 out of 10 patients. He wrote a book or two about it. You can google his name and find the information.

What is Bredesen? I'm trying to understand my husband has started taking Aricept this month. And I'm trying to learn as much as I can. Thank you very much for sharing your experience.
