What is the difference between vascular dementia and Alzheimer's?

My mother has Dementia and my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last summer. Is there a way to find out if I have early stage Dementia/Alzheimer's?
My husband also 2014 but he lived till Dec 27,2023 at age 87 he also was on Aricept

Incredibly hard to see him like this , a completely different person that raised me . A man who never raised a hand towards me. So very angry and has put his hands on me one time hurt me pretty bad.

My life - and the life of our 16 year old daughter - is continually bouncing from one disaster after another as a result of my husband’s mid-stage Alzheimer’s.
