Alzheimer's: What People Don't See (Infographic)

Posted on October 3, 2016

Below the surface, our loved ones living with Alzheimer's experience days that vary: days of frustration might be followed by alternate days when they seem "better." There's so much more to Alzheimer's than meets the eye. We know that Alzheimer's comes with hundreds of possible combinations of symptoms, many of which appear invisible to outsiders. Most people simply don't see or don't know what living with Alzheimer's is like.

On myALZteam.com, the social network and online support group for people caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's, members discuss the chronic nature of the disease and its hidden symptoms. myALZteam has grown to more than 65,000 members, and members have shared thousands of conversations about life with Alzheimer's! Throughout the year we will share themes we see come up time and time again on myALZteam. We chose the image of an iceberg to represent Alzheimer's symptoms because many of the life-impacting implications of an Alzheimer's diagnosis aren't obvious on the surface. Please share to spread Alzheimer's awareness!

This list is by no means exhaustive. What symptoms would you add?
