Do any of you have a family member on Donepezil 5mg? How has it worked to help Dementia / Alzheimer's?
The jury is still out. So hard to tell the effects of all these meds--dont want to not take them and don't know if he would be worse without them! I was concerned about his keeping over 12 hrs, also… read more
I am doing well and writing my 6th children's story!
My husband was told to take vitamin B12 several years ago, at his first neurologist appointment.

My husband used to get explosive diarrhoea about 4 hours after taking 10mg of Aricept but a friend suggested I give him 1/2 a tablet in the morning and 1/2 at night and that has worked out well.
Donepezil was prescribed for my husband who is in early stage AD. We started with 5 mg. and after 6 months increased it to 10mg. He took it at bedtime and never had an adverse reaction. Now, it is time to increase it again but I'm not sure if that is a good idea. Anyone else have this problem with 10mg ?

My husband takes aricept and namenda and xanix and small paxil. Wd exelon be a better option?
Ask your neurologist what he thinks of the change and what other new treatments could be useful.
It also gave me nightmares, I have always had them but these were worse.
I took Namenda and I couldn't handle the side effects.
