Frequent Urination
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My wife feels she has to urinate every 20 to 30 minutes. We have tried meds and been through test but ultimately the doctors say it is Alzheimer’s connected. Do others have this problem and are there suggestions on how to deal with it?

I had this with my mom, it was urinary tract infection even though after many medications nothing worked finally I took her to the Emergency Room to fine out it went in her blood was hospitalized for 6 long days. After that she has only had one in the last year.

Is she on any medication to reduce her anxiety? A frequent need to urinate (women with or without dementia) may be related to anxiety.

Try depends type products. I had to do this for my husband and it's helped.

Yes, unfortunately none of the urinalysis or blood work shows an infection.
