Ruth...my condolences on the passing of your dearest son. I cannot begin to imagine your grief. Take comfort of the treasured memories of him.

I know how this loss has impacted your caregiving for your mother. I can only hope that you remember to take care of you because you need your energy and focus to get you through the journey and path you are on.

I think Marilyn2’s advice is excellent. Those groups are resourceful and can guide you.

I am my mom’s primary caregiver. She is 88. I know when I was searching for a car for mom I had to remember her use of walker and wheelchair and enough trunk space for them.
I also had to consider a lower entrance to the car rather than an SUV higher entrance. I put a flexible lightweight cushion On the passenger side so she can sit a little higher. So many things to consider for the comfort and safety of those we care for.

My mantra is patience, compassion and love. I’ve added a new word....courage.
