Rispidone
A myALZteam Member asked a question đź’

My father has late stage alzheimers. He was put on a anti psychotic medication 3 years ago. In the last few months he has uncontrollable leg movements and pelvic thrust. His neurologist wants to decrease the rispidone for a week then for him to stop taking it. Has anyone had any experience with this? He’s miserable because he can’t stop moving.

My husband was on that medication for about a week and he got to where he couldn’t walk. After it exited his system he was ok as far as walking. I’m wary about giving him any of the anti psychotic medications.

I took my husband off Risperidone about a month ago, but still shaking his legs constantly. He says he doesn’t realize he’s doing it.
