Social security is supposed to have a supplemental burial so you may want to call them. You can also contact your local politicians who represent you and ask them for assistance. I don't know what state you are in and each state is different but if you tell me the state and county I will research it for you.
When my brother in law got it 1st stimulus check we put it in an irrevocable policy with homesteaders through the local funeral home. We added to it every extra dollar left after nursing home bill. He died Christmas Day and thank God we had enough to cover his burial.
Be careful to review any company and policy to ensure they actually pay when they are supposed to pay. The cost is prohibited for most especially on fixed incomes. Try thinking of an amount you might need for a proper burial. Divide it into monthly payments. Sometimes the only way is putting the money aside for a small burial rather than pay a monthly premium. You will be unable to insure for future income lost. Insurance companies don't make big profits because they give money away. And AD coverage at this stage is definitely high risk. Blessings to you and yours
I did get a small policy for the benefit of my children. However I donated my body to science. “Science Care” online. They will used my body to educate new nurses and doctors. The remaining ashes will be mailed to my daughter. My two daughters are nurses. My son-in-law and daughter in law are nurses. My son is a PA. I call this paying it forward.
In Tennessee, there are policies you can get that are like the ones they advertise on tv. She would have to live 2 year from the date you take the policy out for it to pay the full face value. You would get the premiums back that you had paid if she didn't live the two year. ALEX Trebek used to advertise one on TV
