Social Activities During Covid
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

84 year old mother living by herself is complaining about being bored. She used to go to senior center for activities and social interaction but this venue is still closed due to virus. I have tried to fill in but it is not the same for her. What options are there for her?

I have given my husband screws and nails to sort by size. Keeps him busy. For a woman I would think maybe a tangled ball of yarn to untangle would keep her busy

I work at a senior center and we are doing virtual activities; Bingo, exercise, games, etc... and we also do a "drive by" where staff goes by their homes, bringing them treats and silly activities. Check in your area to see if anything like this is available?

Thank you but she is not able to use a computer. It is simply too hard for her to understand. She has a hard time using a flip phone. She complains all the time about this equipment. She says gibberish comes onto the screen. I do appreciate the response. I was hoping there were very small groups meeting and there was some sort of this happening. Thank you.
