His short term memory and higher functioning cognitive skills are impaired. Lately he has been having periods of being paranoid. He believed I am keeping things from him or treating him as if he is stupid. Trying to reassure him does not work, nor does being quiet. He becomes more upset and angry. I just try to ride it out, though not always easy. Has anyone else experienced this and what do you do??
Yes sometimes he objects to all offers of help I simply tell him I can not help him unless he does as I ask I simply walk away he usually is more Willing when I return
I wish I could say somthing to comfort and advise you. If you read my posts you may understand why I cant just now. Bless you, Fred
they do have drugs to assist with the agitation or paranoia. If too difficult, you should discuss with your doctor and get advice.
All the time. Doesn't help to get defensive because then we are both upset. I just try to change subject or walk away. He has been talking lately about leaving me. I don't know where he thinks he'll go.
I too have to deal with the accusations . It is so hard when you try so hard to do what needs to be done. I find its best to not talk about it or defend your actions. Tomorrow they forget the conversation anyway.
