My 96 year old mother has been taking zyprexa for 6 years. My mom has had dementia for 8 -9 years. This is the only medicine she takes for dementia. My mom was given this medicine by her primary doctor to help her eat better and to address hallucinations she was having due to her dementia. Recently, we have been told by her nursing facility that she should be weaned off this medicine. Restlessness can be a side effect of Zyprexa itself or due to too high a dose....urge to move, especially legs is a big part of it (restless legs syndrome related to dopamine imbalance)..perhaps look up this side effect and talk to your pharmacist before agreeing to stop it....there is a drug called Cogentin to treat restlessness side effect if this is what is happening and maybe the dose should be lowered
