Is Sleeping More And Eating Less Part Of Dimentia ?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter was diagnosed 1 year ago with Dimentia. In the last 2 months she wants to sleep all the time. Eats n drinks less. This worries Me. She says I can't force Her. I know that, but she has always ate very well.

I have the serenity prayer, and the ALZHEIMER'S REQUEST poem, at my bedside. I read them both at the start and end of my day. The poem has granted me more grace and patience than I can ever thought I could muster.

Sounds like she is a little depressed. U may have to have the doctor put her on meds, which is a part of the disease..U can also give her what she likes all the time . They don't remember that they had it yesterday . They just remember that they like it.

My mom will sleep day and night for a few days then she wakes up and seems to be more normal! Strange disease I will never understand. Hugs to you!

I find it the hardest to get liquid in. My husband carries a thermos cup all day and barely drinks it. Sleeping during the day has increased right along.
