My husband was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2018.
Since then sometimes he acts normal and you can't tell he has this disease.. sometimes I feel he
is faking but then slowly starts to forget, repeat things and talk a lot about the past.
Sometimes he would walk with his hands behind his back like he is bored, or sometimes stares
at things around the house.
How can one moment he can act normal and a few days later not?
I hav had Vascular dementia for a year. I can tell u first hand, that some days are bad and some are somewhat good. What makes my days worse is when i dont get enough sleep or hav had too much outside stimulation such as being in crowds, too much volume on tv, or just too much activity. I find that if i dont get 9 hrs.of sleep, my symptoms become worse. Even 8 hrs. makes a difference! If i get less than 8 hrs.of sleep, things really decline and thats when i know i need a nap!
My mom does the same way! Hugs for you!
He isn't acting.. that is the nature of the disease.
