My husband on occasion which he had some recently he saw a man in our house and he said we had to get out of here in the middle of the nite cause he could kill us I said we will leave tomorrow he stayed up for two nights the nite before he said it was five at night when it was five in the morning would not give up on either of these hallucinations so what do you do is there a medication to help.....but a lot of meds he might be prescribed give him hallucinations
Ask his dr about low dose of seroquel late in day for hallucinations and hopefully you both can sleep. Hallucinating is more common with some types of dementia and sometimes these are more likely late in day and part of sundowning.confusion.
Don asks where those men went. Asks where everyone is. Asks if we are the only ones here. I give him answers like yes, they went home, or they had to change a tire. He looks and opens doors wanting to let the dogs in.( no dogs here) He thinks he is buying houses, and selling ours.
Momma did that and we found out she had the beginning stages of Parkinson's disease. She took a medicine and her paranoia slipped away. Just because they have all doesn't mean other symptoms done occurred. Treat every new symptom as a Dr visit.
Thanks for some great ideas I wonder sometimes if it is a medication that before did not do this or if wheni give him some food I do not usually give him I try and keep his diet as clean as I can but every once in a while I have a taste for something else and I guess he should not eat it.....I have him on a gluten free diet and hardly any sugar
My Mum has hallucinations every now and then. She sits in an arm chair and would say someone was on the couch. When I removed pillows or a jacket that's on there she wouldn't see them anymore. Could he perhaps have seen himself in a mirror. Good luck, it's no good for either of you not getting enough sleep
