What is it all about ? is it for our family members to cure them or is it for us the family members who could get it and have the genes predisposed to getting it and should I ask about getting it when it goes to human trials?
Yes, National Institute of Health. And Alzheimer's is genetic. Doesn't mean you will have it some day, but that one is at a higher risk for it if someone in the family has Alzheimer's
JanP this is the same with my father-in-law. His body is well, but he isn't there anymore, so it has become a trap that holds him in the land of confusion.😢
My father did everything they say to do, cc for the weekly meet at McDonald's with family. Did crosswords, puzzles, sudoku, exercised everyday including cycling many miles (5 at least), the gym 3 to 4 days a week on top of exercises & stretches daily at home. None of it prevented his Alzheimer's. What it did do is prolong the length & torture of his disease since he was so healthy to begin with
@A myALZteam Member....there is familial Alz and also a specific gene folks can be tested for,,,.,these both make heredity possible in some cases.
I have read recent studies that indicate Alzheimer's is not hereditary.
