I knew in my heart of hearts he was showing signs of dementia even before the neurologists diagnosis 3 months ago. I can not stop crying when I’m alone. And heaven forbid friends who know walk up to me and give me a hug! I literally almost come unglued. I don’t cry in front of him. He is early stage so it’s as if you did not know you wouldn’t know at this point. I can tell, yes I can tell. You see we have been together since 10th grade in high school (embarrassingly looooong ago😂). But so… read more
I pray for God to give me more patience. At times watching my husband get worse is horrible. He tried to put his razor in his mouth thinking it was a toothbrush. I just want to scream. My life is… read more

Maybe simple chair exercises. There are lots of videos on simple things. Even hand exercises such as just squeezing small flexible balls Any thing for both physical and mental stimulation
Mom still can do her personal care for the most part. She does not use the kitchen anymore, nor does she drive or go anyplace unattended. Her spouse is taking care of her for the most part with help from my sister and myself 3 days a week. Mom is getting very frustrated because we can't always figure out what she is trying to say. She also thinks we are always talking about her or that we are plotting against her. She also believes her husband is fooling around on her. One time said him and… read more

Thank you.
Regarding my previous comment above: In further reading, I think the Hope study involves more than what I’ve read about. The audio treatment that I mentioned is probably just a part of this study. I… read more
Don’t make any large moves immediately. My husband was in memory care for 4 months and I had to bring him home as the place wasn’t caring for him properly. With dementia a new home would have been a… read more
My husband still hadn't put the switches up. I'm not electronically trained to do this. We had bought some dusk to dawn night lights. My dad did something with them. Haven't found them or his light good jacket that he put somewhere.
I have been giving him 10 mg of melatonin. Apparently my husband just told me it's not working! All this week, I thought it was working. So much for communications! It was my husband's ideal to bring my dad to our house. Now he seems totally against it… read more

It seems my Loving wife of over 48 years has reached the stage where she knows my name but not that we are husband and wife. She also now does not know we had Children. I will call the Doctor this week as today is Sunday. Did medication change give anyone more time? Did your Love ones improve even for awhile. It seems we are entering a new stage and I don't want to scare my kids. She was always the best Mom and Grandmom.
I'm so sorry to hear this. It's frustrating. My dad now only knows a couple family members, and I'm not even positive of that any more. Interestingly, I live far away from him and he knows me on the… read more
My husband has begun saying he is scared and things are scary. We have always walked in the woods. Last time he said he was afraid. Storms have become very frightening in the last several weeks. Bad dreams. Any advice or ideas welcome.
ThanksMuggsy. Hope everything is going well for you. Hugs
