Has Anyone Been Watching The 12 Part Series Online, Awakening From Alzheimers?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

Wanted to hear if anyone had any feedback about this series. www.awakeningfromalzheimers.com Just wanted to chat with others who are dealing with Alzheimers in their life and get their opinions. I think some good information, however when they use terms about "reversing" Alzheimers, I think that can be kind of reckless. Yes, some good things to think about and other options. Thoughts?

I agree. I think some very good tips. If you saw the episode about the dr who gave her husband Coconut oil and his symptoms reversed 99%, it made wonder why it doesnt work for everyone. Age? Advancement of disease?

My husband, 72, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Oct 2020 by our family doctor. Prescribed namenda, then aricept when that didn't do anything. Pretty much just waiting for decline to continue, which it did. Then watched the awakening series last month. Changed to very low carb diet, upped exercise, added some vitamins. He's back to himself!! I don't think he had Alzheimer's at all. How many other families have watched a loved one decline , when it wasnt Alzheimer's at all!

I watched it just recently. I think it contained a lot of useful information but some of the guests seemed to contradict each other which was confusing. In addition, the series was outdated (not sure by how many years) so that leads me to wonder what is different now. I sent multiple messages asking when it was recorded but never got an answer.

HI, i saw most of the series and found that the best results for "reversing" seemed to be with those who had very little progress into the disease. I looked at it as good notes for me as child of the Alz patient who may be suseptible to the disease myself by heridiity. Also as her caregiver and giving too much of myself resulting in stress/ lack of exercise/ depression/ perhaps I need to be cognisant of the fact that some of this can help me to fuction better and improve my own health to a better degree.

However, if you want to try things to see if they work for you try one at a time and give about 10 days min to see if they work. Note the things about the items (like coconut oil needs to disolve at low temperature and if you use the high temp it changes the chemistry of it so it will not work properly). I personally have been using coconut oil (1-2 Tbsp melted in my hot porridge) and have noticed clearer brain function after 10 days. Less forgetful and noticing more around me. My Mom of course is picky and finds everything theses days seems greasy so will not try. As to taking vitamins she felt she did not need and just could not get her to take them, so I discontinued them.

Yes I watched it. I thought a lot of the information was informative and eye opening. I agree about using the word reversal. Did not realize Parkinsons and ALZ was so closely related. Definitely confirms my thought that my mom and her diet choices and refusal to make any changes contributes greatly to her decline.
