My mum has the onset of dementia and I would like to add a tracking app on her phone just in case the worse happens and she is unsure of where she is - has anyone got an app that they can recommend that's 100% worth getting? Thanks
I feel this is of great importance just in case such time arrives that one receives a phone call and is lost - I would really appreciate some feedback - thanks in advance.

Thank you all, you’re very helpful.
My husband has always loved to sleep, but I find that now he can easily sleep in excess of 12-14 hours a night. I work and don’t wake him up because (a) we have not yet had problems with him sleeping through the night and (b) since I’m not there, I figure if he’s sleeping, he’s safe.
Does anybody else find their loved one sleeps so many hours with no problem?
Similar things happening to D...although I think D may be a little more advanced. He also got confused when walking and doesn't ho unless someone is with him.
some lunch and gives half dinner to dog! Getting thinner....dangerous?

My mother has very restless nights, she wakes up between 1am and 5 am and tries to get up out of bed and wander, it can be 2-6x a night. Our worst nightmare happened three weeks ago when she got up and fell beside her bed and had a displaced fracture of the pelvis. She is on the mend but night time is a serious safety issue for us. I have ordered a bed alarm mat that works like a baby monitor that alerts us if she gets up off the pad as well as putting cushioned mats by her bed to cushion a… read more
This isn't a real sleep aid but it works! My husband was becoming very agitated and disoriented at night. Our adult children took us out to eat one night and we had so much fun but on the way home… read more
Thanks everyone for the hugs!
My husband was DX with Vascular dementia about 5 years ago. He is fully capable of self care with reminders and his short term memory is non existent. My biggest concern is he has begun to take multiple napes a day plus he sleeps 10 hrs a night. Is this normal?
Yes, I agree...nothing wrong with their napping during the day. I think walking the path of dementia is very tiring. When they can't find the bathroom, when they don't know where you are...they are… read more
My husband still hadn't put the switches up. I'm not electronically trained to do this. We had bought some dusk to dawn night lights. My dad did something with them. Haven't found them or his light good jacket that he put somewhere.
I have been giving him 10 mg of melatonin. Apparently my husband just told me it's not working! All this week, I thought it was working. So much for communications! It was my husband's ideal to bring my dad to our house. Now he seems totally against it… read more
JanieceStewart, I have to agree with you! No one wants to see to help! Before we moved my dad to our house, our daughter in law said, move your dad here. We did, and they haven't helped at all! My… read more
